The Case for Quantum Key Distribution
Today I released a new paper onto the quant-ph section of the arXiv, an electronic research paper archive. The paper is called “The Case for Quantum Key Distribution”, with co-authors Michele Mosca and Norbert Lütkenhaus. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is one of the most promising applications of quantum information: it allows distant parties to establish a shared secret over a public channel. This paper describes how QKD might be useful in future communication infrastructures.

Ireland photos
Ireland photo gallery In September 2007, I visited Ireland for a research conference and then went on a bike tour with my friend Laura. I wrote about the trip at the time:
After quite a long while, I’ve finally uploaded pictures from the trip. Some of the panoramic photos came out quite well, I think.
