Photos from the cottage

Looking south on Gull RiverLooking south on Gull River Well, it’s certainly been a while since my last update. Alas and alack, my life is just not as exciting last year, with all the gallivanting around Europe. Instead, I’m stuck in Waterloo with only occasional trips to Boston, my Aunt Joe’s cottage, Barbados, Oxford, Greece, Vienna, and California. I really do have a tough life. Given that I do not have as much to update as before, do expect less regular updates, although perhaps more than once every two months. We’ll see how it goes.

Mr. Jones, ready for the coldMr. Jones, ready for the cold For my last reading weekend ever (we’re apparently getting a reading week next year!) I went to my Aunt Joe’s cottage, a few hours north of Toronto in the Kiwartha lakes region. It was very peaceful and I got some great early morning photographs with frost covering the trees. And I got to spend time with Mr. Jones, my aunt’s wonderful dog.

Along our beachAlong our beach And now, for a change of pace, I decided to go to a workshop on quantum cryptography at McGill University. Well, at McGill University’s Bellairs Research Institute located in Barbados. I’ve just arrived, and it’s only 7:30 in the morning here, so I haven’t had much time to look around. But here’s one picture of the beach for you. A nice break from the cold winter of Waterloo, wouldn’t you agree?
